No sense in crying over the perfect pair I had in the early ’80s – elongated toe, patent leather, went with everything.
No sense in sobbing over the late ’80s ones I gave away in the mid ’90s – cockroach-killer, lace-up, menswear flats in perfect condition. Ok, so I still sob a little at the loss of those. It was one of those ruthless closet-cleaning moments, when I thought I would never wear flats again.
Sigh.
So now, I am on a quest. I need a gothentic pair.
Pointy. Elongated with toe cleavage. Shiny. Black.
These are the closest to my heart so far…but they are not “the ones”, you know?
